the Middle School. FAIS has two academic
divisions: the Lower School for students in
preschool through 5th grade, and the Gilkey
International Middle School for, 6th through

The French American International School
was founded in 1979, and is now one of
the largest independent schools in the Portland metropolitan area. FAIS is the only
independent school in the Portland area
that is fully accredited by both the French
Ministry of Education, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS),
and the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS). FAIS is also
